Hello!
We are delighted to hear that you are interested in working with Cloud 9 Events & Styling. If you've done your research, you will know that our team is small and extremely passionate. We work hard, we work early (and late into the night!), and yes, we work pretty much every single weekend.
Did you know that an 'event planner' is considered to be one of the top most stressful jobs? something not to be taken lightly. Aside from that, event planning and styling requires many skills including but not limited to:
attention to detail;
ability to communicate clearly and with all required information and with many different people;
reliable and with great time management skills;
resourceful - understanding the brief and being able deliver on it;
customer/service focused with an ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
If you truly feel you will be the next best thing to complement our team, I encourage you to reply with a formal application addressing:
your research - why is it you want to work with us specifically? Don't forget to address it to the owner of the business (or the person responsible for recruitment: find out who that is and personalise your email)
attention to detail - the structure and correct grammar of your application is very important (this provides an insight into how you will communicate with clients/suppliers)
attach a resume/CV to outline your work history
include contact details (mobile number and email)
first impressions count - call and introduce yourself before you send in your application
if you are referring to places or people you have worked with list their names or the company name, make the job easy for the person who may be offering you a job, don’t leave them guessing and having to ask for more information.
honesty/authenticity is important - we value honesty and whilst we appreciate a ‘follow’ on social media, if you mention that you have been following us for a long time, it is important that it be the truth.
In the events industry reliability, commitment to whatever it takes to get the job done and having a very strong work ethic is of utmost importance. There is no second chance at weddings and events. Being on time (or even better, arriving a few minutes early to ensure that you are not late) is a deal breaker when looking for people who will fit in with our team. People who take pride in how they present themselves and are always ready to potentially be meeting a new client. We work with people who take initiative and are always looking out for ways to go the extra mile for our clients.
We wish you all the very best and hope that you can shine your brightest light and live your best life in whatever career you decide to pursue.
